The Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment (AMOFE) is the official film office for the City of Atlanta. The office encompasses the key economic and creative sectors of film, TV, music, sports, technology, fashion, and digital content. The office promotes Atlanta as a center of creative ideation and influence. The key functions of the office are to issue permits for productions filming on public property, facilitate productions, supporting & curating activations that highlight and grow Atlanta’s entertainment industry.

Set South Atlanta is the digital platform that services the productions and constituents who engage in or are impacted by Atlanta’s entertainment business. The mission of Set South Atlanta is to see the communities that we serve within the illustrious city of Atlanta collaborate with Atlanta’s entertainment community in order to sustain our worldwide leadership in the film, television, and commercial production. Set South acts as the crucial link between the production companies and the constituents of the city of Atlanta which they impact.

The Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment is located in City Hall at 55 Trinity Avenue on the 4th floor.

History of the Office

Founded in 2013, the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment (AMOFE) was created to support the city’s rapidly expanding film and entertainment industry. The office prides itself in spearheading the initial goals of streamlining the city’s permitting process for film productions, facilitating employment of local talent, creating production-related educational and training opportunities and safeguarding the interests of local residents and businesses affected by filming. In its first year, more than 580 permits were issued from July 2013 to July 2014.

The city of Atlanta’s film business continues to grow year-over-year. The city continues to host some of the biggest productions in the world. In comparison to the offices inception, the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment issued over 1000 permits between July 2017 and July 2018.

Each member possesses a unique expertise that when brought together creates a synergy of knowledge and creative intellect essential to moving Atlanta’s entertainment sector forward.
